Jo Malone Dupes

After the whole fiasco with John Boyega and the fragrance brand Jo Malone a while ago, I thought I’m come up with a post showcasing some Jo Malone Dupes.

For those of you who aren’t aware of what happened: film star John Boyega was the ambassador for Jo Malone and he was featured in an advert, of which he created the concept and story for, titled A London Gent.

Jo Malone took the concept - without notifying Boyega - and used a different actor for a similar advert aimed at the Chinese market. When this emerged, there was a lot of backlash against Jo Malone (the brand, not the person, as Jo Malone sold off the company ages ago) and John Boyega severed ties with the company.

When I heard about what happened, I was shocked and disgusted, but (unfortunately) not surprised.

However, when I really think about it, as much as I was excited for John Boyega’s ambassadorship when it was initially announced, I don’t think I’ve ever really been a fan of the brand. I always found Jo Malone’s products to be too expensive. Even with my earnings now, I don’t think I’d ever buy from JM and after what happened, I very much doubt I ever will.

Anyway, there are plenty of products out there that are similar to Jo Malone’s fragrances. You can purchase these dupes for a fraction of the cost and you can find similar scents by other brands.

Have a look and take your pick.
