Recent beauty favourites (SS20)

Hey all! So, it’s been a while since I wrote a beauty post, so here goes. Over the last few months I’ve been using a lot of products that have become firm favourites of mine.

Here are my recent beauty favourites.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

When at home, I like to keep my lips moisturised and smooth, and now that we’re in the midst of autumn and winter is coming, I need to use lip balm to stop my lips from getting dry and chapped. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm is nourishing and prevents chapped lips.

Nivea Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Hand Cream

I’ve always been a bit of an obsessive hand washer (even before the Covid-19 pandemic) but this means that my hands get dry very quickly. The Nivea Hand Cream keeps my hands feeling smooth throughout the day.

Nivea Shower Cream Indulgent Moisture Cashmere

I prefer to use shower cream instead of soap when showering, and this Nivea Shower Cream in Cashmere is luxurious and smells lovely.

Palmer’s Body Oil

I’ve used many body creams, butters and oils over the years, but this is definitely my go-to for softening dry skin and giving your body a smooth feel.

Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour Cream

I first heard about Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream many years ago when I was reading an article about it in a magazine, and now I understand why it’s always had rave reviews. It’s a long-lasting multi-purpose moisturiser that works as a ‘skin protectant.’ You can use it as a lip balm, hand cream and on your face.

imPress Nails

I don’t mind using false nails from time to time but I hate glue. These imPress Nails are stick-ons and no glue is required, so you can get your manicure looking good in an instant.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

For a long time, I’ve struggled with breakouts, but this exfoliant has worked well to keep my breakouts at bay. I apply this after cleansing my face and before applying moisturiser and SPF, and since I started using this product my face is slowly clearing up. Result!

Aussie Deep Treatment

To maintain the condition of my hair, I’ve been using the Aussie Deep Treatment for years, which provides my afro a lot of nourishment. To use, I apply all over the hair, wrap my hair in cling film, allow the deep conditioner to ‘sink’ into my hair for hours, then I wash off in the shower.

Super Facialist Salicylic Acid Clay Mask

Once in a while, I use Super Facialist’s Salicyclic Acid Clay Mask to help protect my face from breakouts. The clay mask is pricey but it’s worth it - it’s like having a luxurious facial treatment at home. I apply, leave on my face for a bit, then wash off.

Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Boost Facial Serum

To give my complexion a boost, I use the vitamin E facial serum after cleansing and toning my face. It’s good to include vitamin E in your skincare routine because it’s an antioxidant that protects against damage from UV rays and free radicals, and it nourishes the face and body.

So… Vanilla Body Spray

Whether I’m staying at home or going out, I always like to use a scent. Fragrances make me feel good. So… has a really cool collection of fragrances and the vanilla body spray smells so good.
