5 happy things (April 2023)
Even though I’ve been busy lately, life has been so good. I feel blessed and happy, so today I will talk about five happy things that I am totally grateful for right now.
1. Spring has arrived
My favourite season is here! I love spring because it represents a lot of what I love: fresh starts, new beginnings, new chapters, warmer weather, brighter and longer days and beautiful flowers and trees in bloom. It’s a time that boosts my mood and makes me feel more motivated to live my best life.
(Obviously I’m not looking forward to suffering with hayfever.)
2. I’m excelling at work
In 2021/2022, I officially became a member of The Great Resignation and started working in my current job.
Since then, I’ve been absolutely buzzing and my time in my current role as a content manager has been amazing. I feel as though I am flourishing and thriving, and I enjoy working on some fascinating projects.
Plus, my work-life balance is been restored and I love the vibe and I really like the people I work with. It makes a change from all the toxic people and environments I’ve dealt with in the world of work over the course of my career. It’s so refreshing not to deal with any of that anymore. The lesson I’ve learned is that life is much better when you get out of your comfort zone, stop tolerating BS in your day job and find a job/career that aligns with what you love, your personal values and what you deserve.
Life is too short to be in situations that don’t add value to your life and no longer serve you. Go where you’re celebrated, appreciated, respected and acknowledged for who you are and what you do.
3. I’m back to blogging regularly
I took a break from blogging but now I’m back, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s nice to tap into my creative side again.
4. I am excited to be socialising a lot more
I’ve spent the last few weeks staying in more than going out. Now, I have plans to go out, attend events and socialise over the spring and summer seasons, and I’m excited.
5. I feel and radiate inner peace
I’ve spent a lot of my life living in extreme distress, dysfunction, chaos, negativity and misery. Those situations and circumstances were completely out of my control but over a year ago, I made an important decision: to choose joy.
I decided that I no longer wanted to live a miserable life. I decided to opt out of the “struggle life” and unnecessary suffering. I decided that I wanted to live a life that would bring me joy, harmony, freedom, abundance, ease and inner peace.
I am the happiest I've ever been. I no longer surround myself with toxic people that make it their mission to bring me down and cause problems in my life. I practise gratitude and I count my blessings every single day. I feel confident, secure and self-assured. I’m in charge of my trajectory and I have my freedom. I still have ‘down days’ but most of the time, I feel the joy radiating from within and I believe that the best is yet to come.
Now, I’ve got to continue to dodge the energy vampire suckers that want to disrupt my peace. I’ve worked really hard on myself and I’ve come a long way, so I am determined to live my best life and continue to feel at peace - and I don’t want anything or anyone to mess that up.
What’s making you happy right now?
