What's In My Handbag?

Like a lot of women, we all use a handbag for our stuff. I do take a lot of things that I need on a day-to-day basis, but not too much because there's nothing worse than carrying a heavy bag around.

Here are the things that I have in my handbag.

The handbag

I have loads of bags and I tend to switch between different ones. I like to use a crossbody bag or a mini satchel because these types of bags are my favourite. They're useful if you only want to take a few things. I like tote bags and quilted bags too. For work or study purposes, I prefer to use a rucksack because I think that this is a lot more practical.

What's in my handbag?

Let's start with the essentials. Without fail, I always take my purse, my pair of glasses, cards, house keys, a pen and my mobile phone. I travel down to London often and I use public transport so I take my Oyster card too, and I have a copy of the Tube map in my bag - even though I have the app on my phone.

I like to add extra essentials in my handbag: chewing gum, a couple of packs of pocket tissues, painkillers, antibacterial hand wipes and aloe vera hand gel. Obviously, as a woman, I like to be prepared so I take sanitary pads and tampons - though I'm looking to switch to a Mooncup, Enna Cup or OrganiCup.

Hand cream is a necessity for me because my hands get so dry. I'm using Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Hand Cream, which is super moisturising and absorbing. I make sure to take a small bottle of water so that I can hydrate myself, but I need to switch to a reusable and refillable bottle.

For makeup and beauty essentials, I like to take a few items with me in my handbag. I take a lip balm, lipstick or lip gloss, mascara, mirror and a body scent.

As for extras, I like to take a book with me because I like to read.

If I'm attending a press or blogger event, I always take my camera and business cards. I network a lot and write posts on events, so connecting with other people and taking high-quality pictures are really important.

If it's raining then I take my umbrella. If it's sunny then I take my sunglasses. I've got this cute pair of rose gold aviator glasses from Coconut Lane. You can get 20% off Coconut Lane purchases using my exclusive discount code CHICHI20.
