The Best Sunscreen For Black Skin: SPF for Dark Skin

Black Girl Sunscreen

Hello! As a proud Black woman it can be really frustrating to find the right sunscreen that works well on my skin. (And before you ask - yes, Black people should be using sunscreen everyday.)

I find that a lot of sunscreens on the market aren’t suitable for darker skin tones because they leave a white, ashy cast. I can’t count the number of times I’ve tried to test out a sunscreen, only to find that I look like a cousin of Casper the Friendly Ghost! It’s weird. I want to protect my skin from the sun’s harmful UV ways but I don’t want to look strange.

That’s where this sunscreen product comes in - the one and only best sunscreen for Black skin (in my honest opinion).

The Best Sunscreen For Black Skin: SPF for Dark Skin

Black Girl Sunscreen

The best sunscreen for Black Skin is Black Girl Sunscreen!

It costs £19.99 for 89ml and it works like a charm. I use it everyday after completing my morning skincare routine, and it blends into my skin instead of sitting on my complexion and leaving a white cast. It adds moisture to my complexion and gives my skin a nice glow.

I normally buy Black Girl Sunscreen with SPF 30 but you can buy up to SPF 50. It effectively protects and combats against UV rays, even under makeup. I’m British and I live in the UK all year round, but I make sure I apply this every single day, even if the weather is gloomy.

Apparently Black Girl Sunscreen is more suitable for dry to normal skin types. I’d say I have combination skin: I have an oily t-zone and the rest of my face is a cross between dry and sensitive, so I’m selective about what I put on my face because using the wrong products can cause my skin to be irritated and break out badly with spots and rashes. But this sunscreen doesn’t do that - it smoothes and nourishes my skin and body, as well as protecting my face.

Also, even though I have oily skin, this sunscreen doesn’t cause my face to look extremely greasy and shiny, which is annoying to deal with when you have oily skin. I can get the glow without looking as shiny as a silver spoon. And if, like me, you have dark skin and are prone to spots and breakouts, using Black Girl Sunscreen everyday can prevent hyper-pigmentation.

All in all, Black Girl Sunscreen is safe and effective to use on all skin types: normal, dry, sensitive, oily and combination skin.
