My self-care habits for the new year

2021 has been a crazy year for me!

I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy and my life has become increasingly hectic.

However, I’ve decided to slow down and take a step back from a lot of things in 2022, as well as pursuing new projects, continuing with my favourite hobbies and working towards achieving my goals.

A while ago, I wrote about my feelgood habits, so this time round, I’ll be sharing my self-care habits for the new year.

Playing games

While you won’t catch me on Twitch any time soon, I love playing games on my phone. It’s a really cool way for me to de-stress and calm my mind in my spare time. At the moment, I love playing Temple Run, Temple Run 2, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Alien Shooter, Beach Buggy Racing and Jewels Deluxe. Also, I love discovering games online, such as this one that I discovered recently: Culinary Schools.

You can play a variety of different games, such as cooking games, arcade games and memory card games. A lot of the games are simple and exclusively for kids, but there are some games that are fun for adults too. I like the arcade/classic games, and my favourite is Fruit Snake! It’s like Snake 2K.

Listening to audiobooks

A while ago, I decided to make the switch from physical copies of books to audiobooks by purchasing an Audible membership. I’m so glad I did this because it’s much easier and quicker than reading physical copies of books, even though I’m a fast reader. I’ve always been a bookworm, but now I’m ‘reading’ a lot more and digesting a lot more information. It’s so nice to listen to a book while working, doing household tasks and relaxing.

Listening to music

I love listening to music. It’s good for the soul. It gets me into a good mood. I like listening to soul, funk, 80s pop, 90s pop and R ‘n’ B.

Journaling

Journaling is a form of self-expression for me, and it’s a great way for me to process and release my thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Goal planning

I don’t believe in Law Of Attraction but I recently purchased a manifestation planner. I use it to write down my plans and create strategies to help me achieve my goals. There’s a lot I’d like to accomplish in 2022, and writing in my manifestation planner helps me feel motivated and inspired.
