My month in beauty #2

Hello! Spring is here and the lockdown is slowly starting to ease off in England, which I’m pretty pleased about. The sun shining has got me in a much better mood so I’m feeling pretty good.
My beauty newsletter
I’ve decided to bring back my beauty newsletter. I set this up last year in the summer but I put it on pause because I didn’t have the time or the motivation to dedicate myself to it. But now, I’m keen to bring it back because I have a lot of thoughts that I’d like to showcase through the newsletter, rather than the blog.
My beauty newsletter will feature my in-depth think pieces on makeup and mental wellness. So, please subscribe.
My spring skincare routine
I am really not a fan of a skincare routine with a thousand steps, so I like to keep my skincare routine (and collection) simple and easy to follow - and it works for me, giving my complexion a luminous glow.
I start off by cleansing my face using Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser.
Then, I apply Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, my weapon in the battle against breakouts.
I also apply Inkey List’s Retinol Eye Cream.
Then I apply Glossier’s Futuredew Serum and Superdrug’s Vitamin E Serum for a dewy glow.
Afterwards, I apply Superdrug’s Simply Pure Hydrating Serum, which works as a serum and face moisturiser combined.
To finish off, I use Evy’s Sunscreen Mousse.
A few beauty products worth mentioning…
I have a few beauty items that I’ve been using daily that have worked well for me.
Superdrug Extracts Skin Care Shea Butter Hand Cream: a fast absorbing a non greasy hand cream that keeps my hands feeling soft, smooth and moisturised.
Dove Antiperspirant Deodorant Roll-On Original: with its delicate scent, this deodorant keeps my underarms clean and smelling fresh all day.
M&S Chamomile Shower Gel: a light-scented shower gel that refreshes and revitalises my body in the shower.
Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Milk Shampoo and Conditioner: soothing and comforting on my sensitive and flaky scalp and dry afro hair.
Blue Magic Conditioner Hair Dress: I know a lot of people don’t agree with using hair grease on afro/natural hair. But, this product isn’t too greasy, and it keeps my hair moisturised and prevents hair breakage.
Lidl’s Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau De Parfum: move over Chanel No. 5! This is the perfect, luxurious scent for a woman of elegance - on a budget.
Radox Muscle Bath Soak: with its eucalyptus scent, this mood-boosting bath soak is soothing on the body and mind and calming to the scenes.
Sunday Rain Sleep Pillow + Room Mist: I am a pretty good sleeper but I’m always looking to improve the quality of my sleep. With this lavender-scented mist, I can fall asleep easily and get some shut-eye as soon as my head hits the pillow.
Glossier Body Hero dry-Touch Oil Mist: this beauty product is one of my favourites. To me, it’s a luxury in a bottle. It’s pricey but worth it: it’s antioxidant-rich formula soothes the skin, as well as giving the body a radiant boost.

I want to take a moment to talk about Beauty Pie. Paula’s Choice
As you know, I love using the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant to help keep my breakouts at bay. Paula's Choice Skincare stands for Smart, Safe Beauty. The products you use should work and be good for your skin, no exceptions. They only use the best natural and synthetic ingredients available to address the skincare needs of all ages, skin types and concerns.

On my haircare wishlist: Living Proof Curl Collection
In the past, I tried the Living Proof Restore Repair Mask and I loved the results. It’s pricey but deeply moisturising. A while ago, Living Proof released a Curl collection and I’d love to give it a try. The products are formulated to detangle, define, strengthen and soften curly, wavy and coily hair.
What I’ve been watching
If you follow me on Twitter then you would have noticed that I am absolutely obsessed with the hit BBC police drama Line of Duty. Honestly, words on this blog cannot do the show justice (no pun intended) so, if you have no clue what I’m on about, go and watch the show (starting from season 1) on the BBC or on Netflix. Enjoy! You will love it.
What I’ve been listening to
As usual, I’ve been listening to loads of podcasts, but there’s one particular podcast that’s caught a lot of my attention.
Jasmine Shah is a life coach and podcast host of Just Glow With It, a podcast that’s all about positive vibes, glowing up and living your dream life. I’m in the process of building my dream life and this podcast is full of useful advice and tidbits.
