How to clean up your beauty routine
For many of us who use a wide range of products as part of our beauty routines, we may not realise that some of the ingredients and formulas might contain chemicals that may not be completely harmless.
A lot of the labels on beauty packaging contain scientific terms, which can be confusing and hard to understand.
Also, a lot of companies market products using the green-washing technique, which can be very misleading. Just because a product is marketed or advertised as ‘clean’ or ‘green’ doesn’t mean it is!
Chemicals to look out for
Here are some of the chemicals to look out for in bath and body products, thanks to a helpful guide by Quill:
Phthalates
Fragrance
Ethylenediamine Tetraacetic Acid (EDTA)
Formaldehyde
Propylene Glycol
Toluene
Talc.
