Five free and simple tips to enhance your beauty

This post is in collaboration with Wow! Free Stuff.

For most of us, looking good and feeling great is so important. I know for myself, I like to look and feel beautiful at all times no matter what’s going on in my life.

Making yourself beautiful need not require a lot of hard work and effort. I must admit, I take my time in the morning and in the evening grooming myself and indulging in my skincare routine. Also, whenever I'm going out, I spend a good amount of time getting ready, but a lot of the products I use are drugstore items or items I've been gifted.

Getting 'dolled up to the nines' shouldn't cost an arm and a leg and there are a lot of ways to make yourself look beautiful - for free.

Here are my free and simple tips to enhance your beauty.

Five free and simple tips to enhance your beauty

free tips to look more beautiful

1. Exfoliate your body

Exfoliating your skin is one of the best ways to take care of your body and I would totally recommend doing this once or twice a week. Exfoliating helps to remove dry and dead skin cells and it increases blood circulation, which helps you to achieve glowing and healthy skin. I normally exfoliate my body in the shower using body scrubs but you can just exfoliate your body in the shower using the tips of your fingers.

2. Drink lots of water

Typically, I tend to drink a minimum of two litres of water a day. I'm sure we all know the benefits of drinking plenty of water each day but for myself, drinking a lot of water cleanses my body of toxins and impurities, keeps me feeling refreshed and keeps skin cells hydrated. Also, I'd also recommend starting your day with a mug of hot water and a slice of lemon to help detox your body.

3. Get free beauty samples

Now, I know this is easy for me to say because I'm a beauty blogger who sometimes receives items that have been sent to me by brands and PRs for free in exchange for a review. However, there are plenty of ways to get beauty samples - without being a freeloader or a blagger. First of all, if you regularly attend beauty events and beauty halls, you can get samples to try out. If you are a beauty blogger/writer/editor/vlogger/influencer then you can receive products and samples in exchange for a review. Also, there are websites such as WOW Free Stuff that will send beauty samples straight to your door.

LOreal Skin Expert Pure Clay Mini Masks.JPG

I was recently sent the L'Oreal Face Mask Play Kit* to test out. I love using clay masks and this one is good because each mask has different purposes. The green clay mask contains Eucalyptus, which purifies the skin. The charcoal mask draws out impurities and detoxes the skin. The red algae clay mask gives a glowing complexion to the face. Ultimately, this mask kit is good for detoxing and cleansing the face and you can use it after a workout, after a night out, as part of a pamper session or to de-stress.

4. Attend a beauty masterclass

If you're a beauty lover like me then see if you can attend beauty masterclasses in your area. A masterclass is a great way to find out more beauty tips, receive advice, watch makeup demonstrations and receive beauty goodies.

5. Smile

You use less muscles when you smile than when you frown, so smile more. Live, love and laugh. Don't stress or sweat the small stuff. Practice gratitude and learn to be content. Turn that frown upside down!
