A Week In Lipsticks #1

a week in lipsticks

I felt inspired to start this series after reading similar posts written by fellow beauty bloggers Sally at The Makeup Directory and Jasmine at Jasmine Talks Beauty.

So, from time to time I will be writing a post featuring all the lipsticks I’ve worn in a week. I like writing beauty and lifestyle content and this is a great way to combine the two together.

I was actually supposed to write this post a while ago but never mind! I’ll be talking about the lipsticks I used in the first week of December 2019.

Monday: Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Fallen From The Lipstick Tree in Night Crimson

I went into the head office to work for the day. There’s not much to report on this - it was just a typical day of getting on with a number of tasks and it went by quite quickly.

I wore the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Fallen From The Lipstick Tree in Night Crimson, which is a deep red shade with a smooth and satin finish on the lips. Speaking of Charlotte Tilbury, I’d 100% recommend trying the lipsticks if you haven’t already.

Tuesday: Beauty UK Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Plum And Have A Go

I had the day off work today and had some stuff to do and errands to run, but overall it was a chilled kind of day, so I didn’t bother doing a full face of makeup. I wore the Plum And Have A Go lipgloss, a deep purple shade that glides on my lips and is my go-to product for a basic/minimal makeup look.

Wednesday: NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen

I was down in London for the day for my work team’s meeting and an afternoon spent in Winter Wonderland! I had so much fun and I belly-laughed so much. Best of all, I have so many happy memories that I’ll be able to take away from that day and remember for the rest of my life.

NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen is one of my favourite lip products. Its creamy and long-lasting formula is so smooth on the lips and leaves a matte finish that doesn’t dry out the lips. Copenhagen is a deep red shade that’s perfect for this season.

Thursday: Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Ripe Raspberry

I worked from home today and I felt slightly unwell and tired after a hectic Wednesday (I had a slight cold) so I didn’t bother with putting on a full face of makeup. After I finished work I spent the evening in bed, and that was it.

To keep my lips moisturised, I used Pixi’s Shea Butter lip balm.

Friday: Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Ripe Raspberry

Once again, I worked from home so I didn’t bother with a full face of makeup or a fancy lipstick. I used the Pixi Shea Butter lip balm to keep my lips nourished throughout the day.

Saturday: Miss Sporty Lipstick in My Nice Plum

I spent the day in central London shopping and attending a beauty event run by Beauty Vibe. I went to a couple of talks and masterclasses and I found them to be really helpful because I gained a fair bit of insight and knowledge on top skincare tips and how to create a glam makeup look.

The Miss Sporty Lipstick in My Nice Plum is actually a dark red shade so the name is a bit misleading. I love it because, like the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick I mentioned above, it leaves a smooth finish on my lips.

Sunday: Pixi Shea Lip Balm in Ripe Raspberry

Sunday is the day of rest and that’s what I did! I spent the day at home, chilling out and relaxing, and I used the Pixi Shea Lip Balm to keep my lips smooth and moisturised.

Final verdict

It’s quite clear that the bold red lip was my ‘go-to’ this week, and this is the season for it! After all, dark red is one of my favourite lipstick shades.
