5 Simple Ways To Transition To Ethical And Eco-Friendly Beauty in 2020

Ethical And Eco-Friendly Beauty

As we all know, the new year is a time for a fresh start and it’s the time to get to work on your resolutions and goals. If you’re a beauty fanatic then one thing you could do for the next year is to start making the jump to ethical and eco-friendly beauty. Contrary to popular belief, this is a lot easier than you think and it doesn’t need to be overly complicated and time-consuming.

It’s never too late to get started. It’s such a good idea because you’ll be doing your bit for animals, your health and the environment. Plus, once to take the next steps then you’ll probably never look back.

Here are the five simple ways to transition to ethical and eco-friendly beauty this year.

Start phasing out your current beauty collection

Take a long and hard look at your current beauty collection and look at the back of each product. You will have items that are not certified cruelty-free, vegan, organic, paraben-free, sulfate-free, toxin-free or natural.

Separate the ethical and eco-friendly beauty products from the ones that aren’t certified. Then, use up or donate the non-certified items and never buy them again.

Do your research

Google is free. There are plenty of ethical and eco-friendly content sources out there - in the form of blogs, articles, videos, guides, newsletters, etc - so you can find out plenty of facts and materials on ethical and eco-friendly beauty.

Be sure to check out various organic beauty retailers and certified organisations such as Cruelty-Free International, Sustainable Beauty and The Vegan Society, because these sites will be your go-to sources for information.

Switch to dupes

One thing you’ll come across as you embark on your journey to ethical and eco-friendly beauty is that you’ll discover that some of the brands and products you love don’t fall into any certified category. You’ll feel disappointed but that’s okay. Don’t worry. Instead of fretting about this, find duplicate versions. For example, if your favourite nude lipstick is not cruelty-free, then you can search cruelty-free makeup brands that sell a similar shade or product.

Join online communities

The ethical and eco-friendly beauty movement is huge and it continues to grow. So, you can join online communities with other like-minded folks who are going through the same process and will be able to support you and share information, advice, hints and top tips.

Start small

You don’t need to take all the necessary steps all at once. This is a journey so take your time and do things bit by bit. As long as you’re dedicated and committed to making changes, you’ll get there.

Good luck on your journey to ethical and eco-friendly beauty.
