A pamper and grooming evening routine with Estrid

This blog post is in collaboration with Estrid.

I’ve been so stressed out lately. It’s because I’ve been busy with work and flathunting.

Also, we’re in the midst of a second lockdown in the UK and I’m conscious of the fact that this year (as crazy as it’s been) coming to an end soon and the new year is just around the corner.

So, when the lovely team at Estrid got in touch with me to review some of their products, I jumped at the chance. I needed to set aside some time to pamper myself by using a face mask, washing and deep conditioning my hair and grooming my body as part of my self-care and relaxation routine.

Here’s my review.

What is Estrid?

Estrid is a ‘razor-sharp subscription for women.’ With the aim to eliminate bad shave days, Estrid offers high quality razors at affordable prices as part of your package and you can cancel your subscription at any time, giving you the freedom as a consumer. You can gift a subscription to friends and loved ones as well.

Also, you can make your skin glow with the additional products on offer as part of your self-care and pampering routine. Here’s how I used the products as part of my pamper and grooming evening routine.

In my package I received:

  • Estrid Startkit Blush (razor and case)*

  • 1 razor handle*

  • 2 five-blade cartridges*

  • 1 shower hook*

  • Estrid Body Oil Wash*

  • Estrid Shave Cream*

  • Estrid Body Lotion*

While showering I used the vegan shave cream (which contains aloe, shea and coconut oil) and applied it all over my underarms and legs, then I shaved off with the razor. I like the shave cream because it smooths the skin, and I like the razor because it glides easily and smoothly over the skin and isn’t harsh on the body, so you’re unlikely to get any weird lumps and bumps.

Also, I love the fact that the razor comes with additional items: the shower hook to keep your razor in place on the wall, blade cartridges so that you can change your razor top and a case so that you can take your razor with you (for example, for a staycation).

Afterwards, I applied the vegan body oil wash, which contains sunflower, cloudberry and almond oil. Usually, I’m very reluctant to use oils in the bathroom because the last thing I’d want to do is to create a hazard. However, what I love about this body oil is that as soon as the water hits your body, the formula changes and washes off, which is nice, and it leaves your body glowing and feeling smooth.

After I came out of the shower I used the vegan body lotion with aloe, shea and canola oil, which is highly moisturising and nourishing to the skin. I really feel as though the vegan body oil wash and the vegan body lotion go hand in hand and work well together as complimentary products.

And another thing, the vegan body lotion is of the right texture (not too thin but not too thick) and provides long-lasting nourishment for the skin.

All in all, I give this entire package a 10/10 (and no, I’m not exaggerating.) The products are of high quality but affordable, and the vegan bodycare products smell so sweet and lovely - perfect for a self-care and grooming routine!
