Cruelty-Free Beauty Haul: NYX Cosmetics
I first heard of NYX Cosmetics over two or three years ago through the blogging community. I read Hannah Louise's post where she reviewed the NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil. At the time, NYX Cosmetics was available in the UK. But it had not officially launched and it was hard to find. Also, a few retailers sold NYX but they didn't have an extensive range of products available.
Then L'Oreal acquired NYX Cosmetics and it was officially launched into many retail stores. At the time, I was in my last year of university and I was working a few jobs in my spare time - specialising in marketing, branding and promotions. Through one of my jobs, I found out about the opportunity to become a brand ambassador for NYX Cosmetics.
I officially became an NYX Insider and worked for a couple of months. A big part of my job involved training at L'Oreal's headquarters. Training meant going into the 'NYX room', gaining information and testing out products. I had a lot of fun! Literally, that was one of the best days of my life!
Since then, the brand has always been one of my favourites and it's cruelty-free.
Recently, I added more products to my NYX Collection.
NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Cream
NYX Cosmetic's Soft Matte Lip Cream is one of my favourite lip products ever. When I was in training I found out that the Soft Matte Lip Cream is one of NYX's most popular products. For me, it's not hard to see why. What I love about this lip product is that it's soft and smooth on the lips and it leaves a long-lasting and a velvet matte finish without drying the lips.
I've used plenty of matte liquid lipsticks and this is the one that I keep going back to because I know it will stay on my lips and it won't make my lips feel like the Sahara Desert.
My favourite Soft Matte Lip Cream shades are Copenhagen - which is a deep red shade that's perfect for creating the bold red lip - and Prague - a dark pink shade that I'm happy to wear all year round.
I've decided to try out some new Soft Matte Lip shades: Monte Carlo, Ibiza* and Milan*. Monte Carlo is a cherry red colour and Ibiza* is a bright pink summery shade. I thought Milan* was a neutral shade but it's actually a rich and deep pink nude shade, which is good for me because most 'typical' nude hues don't suit me.
NYX Professional Makeup Intense Butter Gloss in Toasted Marshmallow*
For a pigmented glossy lip product with shine, the NYX Professional Makeup Intense Butter Gloss is a good choice. I've got this lip gloss in Toasted Marshmallow* and I love it. It's a dark pink lip gloss with a sleek and smooth finish.
NYX Cosmetics Eye Products
As part of my day-to-day makeup look, I always wear eyeliner. The NYX Professional Makeup Vinyl Liquid Liner in Black is my go-to eyeliner: the brush is thin and it's easy to apply with minimal risk of smudging.
I received the NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil in shade Milk* and the NYX Professional Makeup Prismatic Shadow in Mermaid*. The Jumbo Eye Pencil effortlessly glides on the eyelids. The Prismatic Shadow is a metallic eyeshadow that works well as part of a stunning and glamourous makeup look.
NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick in shade Universal (WS04)*
The NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick* in shade Universal (WS04) works wonders (see what I did there) to conceal, highlight and contour your complexion. I really like the fact that this product is compact.
NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick
NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipsticks are rich and pigmented lipsticks with a smooth matte finish and pops of vibrant hues. I was gifted shades Pale Pink* and Nude* and while these colours are pretty, they don't suit my skin tone. I'd actually recommend these shade for those with light skin.
*These items were gifted to me by the wonderful press team at Olympia Beauty, but all opinions are my own.
