Now that I’m slowly getting back into the swing of blogging, I thought it would be a good idea to write a fun post so that you can get to know me better - in the style of Vogue’s ‘73 Questions’ series.

I wrote a similar post on my blog in 2019, so it’s been a while and I’d like to write an up-to-date version because I’ve changed a lot in three years.

1. If you could teach one subject in school, what would it be?

Politics or sociology.

2. What’s your favourite hot beverage?

Hot chocolate.

3. What’s your favourite cocktail?

I love a lychee mocktail.

4. What is your favourite cake?

Victoria sponge.

5. What is your favourite movie?

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

6. What makes you laugh no matter what?

Watching the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Real Housewives or Married To Medicine: Atlanta.

7. What did you want to do with your life at age 12?
I wanted to be a makeup artist or journalist, and I wanted to be able to travel around the world.

8. What is something you will not be doing in ten years?

Renting. I want to buy and own my own home.

9. What is an important life lesson for someone to learn?

Be kind, because you really don’t know what people could be going through.

10. What is one goal you are determined to achieve in your lifetime?

I’d like to live a life that is aligned with my values: joy, peace, abundance, freedom and love.

I think I'm on the way there.

11. What is your favourite dessert?

M&S apple pie with M&S Madagascan vanilla custard (yes, I love M&S!)

12. What is a book you are planning on reading?

How To Do You by Jacqueline Hurst.

13. What did you read most recently?

You’ll Never See Daylight Again by Michaella McCollum.

14. Favourite solo artists?

Beyonce, Rihanna, Joss Stone, Mariah Carey and Amy Winehouse.

15. What’s your favourite board game?

Scrabble.

16. Heels or flats?

Flats all the way.

17. What do you do on a rainy day?

Stay inside, sit on a cosy sofa and watch TV.

18. What are your favourite exercises?

Zumba, yoga and power walking.

19. What was your worst subject in school?

Art.

20. What do you usually eat for breakfast?

Porridge oats.

21. What colour was your prom dress?

Lilac.

22. How do you manage stress?

I journal, listen to music, watch light-hearted television and take a nap.

23. Favourite YouTubers right now?

James Welsh, Raquel Sewell, Black Femininity TV, Kempire, Up And Adam, Kimberly Nicole Foster, Wine n' Chill, Empressive and MelaninMichie.

24. A fashion trend you would like to see disappear forever?

Shorts with the bum cheeks hanging out.

25. Shoes or bags?

Both.

26. How do you know if you’re in love?

I’ve never been in love, but I think once you know, you know, if that makes sense.

27. A television show you’ve binged on recently?

Married To Medicine: Atlanta.

28. Discuss one thing you’ve learned the hard way?

Not everyone is deserving of a place in my life. Therefore, it’s very important to be highly selective and practice discernment.

29. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Be mindful of who you surround yourself with on your journey to success. Be mindful of who you’re friends with because not everyone wants to see you win.

30. What are you most enchanted by?

Nature.

31. What are your biggest strengths?

Confidence, self-belief, ambition, tenacity and self-assurance.

32. Favourite animal?

Cat.

33. What do you first notice about someone when you meet them?

Their demeanour.

34. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Watching The Real Housewives.

35. What are you most excited about these days?

Without giving too much away, I'm embarking on a new chapter and I'm excited to make a fresh start.

36. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

I’m often complimented on my ability to show compassion, joy and empathy to others.

37. What makes you feel the most like yourself?

My pamper routine.

38. Window or aisle seat?

Window seat.

39. What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?

Move out of London twice in the last decade.

40. How would you define yourself in three words?

Kind, confident and conscientious.

41. What’s your current favourite piece of clothing that you own?

Last year, I bought myself a fancy coat from New Look and I love it. It’s perfect for the winter season in the UK.

42. What’s a must-have clothing item everyone should own?

A really strong, comfortable pair of shoes.

43. What’s inspiring you in life right now?

A lot of things. I have plenty of sources of inspiration: podcasts, books, public figures, friends, family, my current job and my therapist.

44. What’s your biggest regret?

Holding on to toxic and draining interpersonal relationships that were destroying my wellbeing.

45. What’s heavily played on your music playlist right now?

Soul, funk and pop music.

46. What makes you feel accomplished?

My personal development journey.

47. Are you more into looks or brains?

I’m into both.

48. Are you confrontational?

No. I absolutely hate confrontation. I think that’s something I need to work on in therapy.

49. What’s the one talent you wish you had?

I wish I could sing!

50. What are your favourite bands?

The Saturdays, Mis-Teeq, Destiny's Child, Little Mix, Spice Girls and Girl Aloud.

51. Do you believe in second chances?

I used to believe in giving people chance, after chance, after chance. But I started noticing that no matter how many chances and allowances I gave to people, they would still find a way to mess up and screw up my life, so I stopped.

Also, I realised that a lot of people that I was giving chances and allowances to were not willing to give me the grace and compassion I deserve as a human being if the tables were turned, and I felt as though I was unfairly treated.

As the late, great Maya Angelou said:

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”

52. What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

I’d love to go on a luxury vacation to a warm destination and engage in wellness activities.

53. What’s your favourite colour?

Purple.

54. Dream country to visit?

Costa Rica.

55. Who’s your style icon?

I have three style icons: Meghan Markle, Rihanna and Naomi Campbell.

56. What are the three values you can’t live without?

Peace, joy and love.

57. What’s your biggest fear in life?

Dying too soon. I would love to live forever.

58. What’s your current TV obsession?

Gossip Girl (2007-2012.)

59. What’s your favourite app?

WhatsApp - it helps me to stay in regular contact with friends and family. I’m on the app on a daily basis.

60. What’s your secret talent?

I can roll my tongue.

61. What’s a book that everyone should read?

The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker.

62. If you could master one instrument, what would it be?

The piano.

63. Blow-dry or air-dry?

Air-dry. Heat is so bad for afro hair.

64. Coffee or tea?

Decaffeinated tea. I don't like coffee.

65. Pilates or yoga?

Both!

66. Stairs or elevator?

Stairs.

67. Summer or winter?

Neither. I prefer spring.

68. What’s a song you like to listen to on repeat?

Fasta by Kah-Lo.

69. What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?

In my day job, I work as a copywriter and content manager. Even though I am really good at what I do for a living, there’s always room to learn, grow, adapt to changing trends and boost my skills.

70. Drugstore makeup or designer makeup?

Drugstore makeup.

71. Lipstick or lip gloss?

Liquid lipstick.

72. How do you define beauty?

Beauty is the essence of special qualities.

73. What’s your affirmation for today?

You are good enough, so always believe in yourself.
